Employee Stock Purchase Plan
The Cabela’s family succeeds together, a philosophy that is reflected in our Employee Stock Purchase Plan, or ESPP. With the ESPP, Cabela’s assists our employees who wish to invest in Cabela’s by allowing stock to be purchased at a 15% discount.
College Savings Plan
As a family company, Cabela’s strives to offer benefits for your entire family. All employees are eligible to participate in the Nebraska Educational Savings Trust (NEST), which provides significant tax benefits on contributions toward future college costs (consult your tax advisor). The NEST is comprehensive, covering tuition and fees, room and board, books, supplies, etc., and is not limited to Nebraska institutions. Universities and colleges, both public and private, are covered across the country.
Medical + Dental Insurance
Cabela’s partners with Blue Cross Blue Shield to provide eligible full-time employees with comprehensive medical benefits through use of BCBS’ nation-wide PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) network. This extensive plan covers office visits (both primary care physicians and specialists), first-dollar preventive care, and other health services (such as surgeries, therapy, hospital expenses, etc.).
Cabela’s full-time health care plan also includes coverage for prescription drugs and dental benefits through Delta Dental. The three-tiered prescription drug program confers benefits to both retail and mail-order prescriptions, while the dental plan covers policyholders for preventive care and restorative work—both basic and major—and orthodontia (covered children up to age 19 qualify).
Two plan choices qualify for Health Savings Account (HSA) participation.
Additionally, team members who decline medical and prescription drug coverage may elect to receive dental coverage independently.
All eligible full-time Cabela’s employees enrolled in our health benefits have access to an array of personal wellness tools and counseling services. Through Cabela’s partnership with BCBS, you can create a customized plan through health coaching, 24-hour help lines and more. Advice is available for personal nutrition, wellness, prescription research, and illness management. Services are also available for all employees interested in losing a little weight (or maintaining a healthy weight) or finally kicking the (tobacco) habit. Annually, Cabela’s offers flu shots to all employees as well as many other targeted wellness programs available to all employees.
Healthy Pregnancy Program
Our families’ health is of the utmost concern to us, and that extends to family members who are still on the way. To help expectant mothers and fathers experience a happy, healthy pregnancy, Cabela’s, through Blue Cross Blue Shield, provides free resources for BCBS plan participants, including a one-on-one pregnancy assessment, 24-hour toll-free phone support, and a care package full of helpful items for new parents and their babies.
Part-time Medical + Dental
We value the contribution of each and every one of our employees, no matter their employment status. As such, Cabela’s gives all eligible part-time employees the option to enroll in a limited indemnity medical plan from Key Select™. This coverage provides assistance for policyholders, offsetting certain health care costs one would otherwise have to pay out-of-pocket.
Through Delta Dental, eligible part-time members of the Cabela’s family may choose to receive dental coverage. The Delta Dental Plan pays 100% of all diagnostic and preventive costs*, as well as a portion of any restorative work performed.

For full-time employees, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) are a great way to save money by creating a tax-free cash reserve to pay for dependent care and/or certain health expenses. When health concerns arise, why wait and worry if you don’t have to? Blues on Call nurse staff is available 24/7 to help you recognize symptoms and choose appropriate care, find doctors and hospitals, learn to manage your health care conditions and explore treatment options, and identify possible medication side effects and interactions.
Voluntary Vision Plan
All eligible full and part-time Cabela’s employees can enroll in a voluntary vision plan. Vision plan participants are covered for periodic eye exams, lenses and frames, as well as many other benefits.
Life Insurance & Disability Benefits
Life Insurance & Accidental Death and Dismemberment Plan (AD & D)
For eligible full-time employees, Cabela’s pays for a term life insurance plan that awards 200% of your base salary (up to a $500,000 maximum) to your selected beneficiary. Our benefits also include coverage in the event of accidental death or dismemberment. Further, we have an attractive package of voluntary/optional term life insurance and AD&D plans that employees may purchase for themselves, spouse, and children.
Cabela’s provides short-term salary replacement benefits for full-time employees who are unable to work due to a qualifying medical disability. Employees have additional benefits available for long-term disability coverage.
Our flexible vacation policy allows you to take time off based on your years of service to the company and hours worked. Need more vacation time? Eligible employees can purchase additional vacation on a quarterly basis. We also allow eligible employees to donate vacation.
Cabela’s gives team members six paid holidays based on employment status to enhance your time-off benefits.
