Cabela’s provides plans to help you prepare for a secure retirement. A host of funds let you tailor a custom portfolio that perfectly meets your investment goals. This plan, offered through London Life and administered through Great West Life of Canada, provides online and in-person resources to make it easier to establish and monitor your plan.
Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP)
A group RRSP is available to eligible employees. Voluntary contributions may be made through payroll or regular deposit.
Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP)
This group plan is available to eligible employees. Cabela’s Canada matches employee contributions to the group RRSP up to 4% of gross earnings. Company-matched contributions are vested to 50% following one year of membership in the plan, and 100% after two years of membership in the plan.
Employee Stock Purchase Plan
The Cabela’s family succeeds together, a philosophy that is reflected in our Employee Stock Purchase Plan, or ESPP. With the ESPP, Cabela’s assists employees who wish to invest in Cabela’s by allowing stock to be purchased at a 15% discount.
Cabela’s, through Standard Life of Canada, provides insurance benefits to all eligible full-time employees. The premiums are cost-shared between the employee and Cabela’s. Covered employees can monitor their personal information and claim progress as well as download forms and other information online.
Our extensive health care plan provides 100% of pharmacare, travel, ambulance and vision care and 80% of paramedical services and other medical supplies to various annual maximum amounts with no deductible. Employees can select from single or family coverage and a drug card ensures quick and comfortable prescription pick-up.
The dental care plan provides 80% coverage for all basic dental services and 50% coverage for major dental services to an annual maximum amount. Employees can select from single or family coverage and reimbursement can be provided directly to the dental office of choice.
For eligible full-time employees, Cabela’s provides a life insurance plan that awards 100% of your base salary to your selected beneficiary. We also offer optional life insurance that employees may purchase for themselves, their spouses, and children.
Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D)
We also provide 100% of your base salary to your selected beneficiary in the event of accidental death or dismemberment.
Short Term and Long Term Disability
Disability insurance ensures peace of mind in the case of accident or illness which prevents you from earning an income for a period of time. Short term disability provides salary continuance if an employee is unable to work due to a medical disability for up to 17 weeks. Long term disability provides salary continuance if an employee is unable to work due to a medical disability from 17 weeks up to two years in their own occupation and longer if the employee is unable to work in any occupation. Medical information is managed and benefits paid through Standard Life of Canada.
Time Off Benefits
We want our employees to enjoy some well deserved time off, so we offer a flexible vacation policy that allows you to take time off based on your years of service to the company.
At Cabela’s Canada, we want to help our employees stay healthy without losing income by providing time off with pay for short term care, to care for an immediate family member who is ill, or for medical appointments. Sick leave is a company funded benefit that is available to employees to help maintain income in the event of personal or family illness that created situations where an employee is unable to attend work.
Take time to celebrate statutory holidays with family and friends. Each year, team members are allotted eight to ten paid holidays based on the province of employment and employment status.

Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP) is a complimentary benefit for all employees and their immediate family members provided through Shepell-fgi, a leading EFAP service provider that offers a wide range of confidential and voluntary support services to assist you and your family with resolving everyday challenges, complex issues, and everything in between.
Eligible full-time Cabela’s employees can pursue additional education with our assistance for tuition and applicable registration fees, upon the successful completion of approved classes.
